The Green Budget Coalition Nature Canada
The mission of the Green Budget Coalition is to present an analysis of the most pressing issues regarding environmental sustainability in Canada and to make a consolidated annual set of recommendations to the federal government regarding strategic fiscal and budgetary opportunities.
The Green Budget Coalition (GBC) has been active since 1999, bringing together the collective expertise of 21 of Canada’s leading environmental and conservation organizations. Representing over 1,000,000 Canadians, this coalition presents an analysis of the most pressing issues regarding environmental sustainability in Canada and to make a consolidated annual set of recommendations to the federal government regarding strategic fiscal and budgetary opportunities.
Each year, the GBC releases a Recommendations for Budget that touches on the previous budget as well as what else can be done for the following year to ensure Canada is moving on the right track to protecting the nature you love.
For Budget 2021 and fiscal announcements in 2020 and 2021, the Green Budget Coalition developed its Recommendations for Recovery and Budget Actions in 2020-2021 that address key four areas to keep climate and biodiversity central to Canada’s recovery from COVID-19:
The Green Budget Coalition expects to publicly release its final Recommendations for Budget 2022 in early or mid-October 2021. Federal government officials may request an advance copy by contacting [email protected].
